An Analyst's perspective on markets

Great Scott! $BE Just Hit 88mph

15 April 2026

Not a joke: Bloom Energy ($BE) jumped 15% pre-market and closed up 24% yesterday (April 14, 2026). The catalyst? A massive expansion of its partnership with Oracle, which is now procuring up to 2.8 GW of solid oxide fuel cells—more than doubling their initial 1.2 GW agreement.

The stock already ran. Why bother now? From our “Reading the Tape” perspective, yesterday’s gap-up was a classic Episodic Pivot chart pattern. These moves serve as a tip-off of a massive disconnect between institutional forecasts and the new reality. When you see a high-volume price gap triggers, it often functions as the catalyst for a multi-month trend, rather than an exhaustion point.

Think back to precedents like Intel or NBIS—large-scale gaps are often the prelude to sustained price discovery as the street are forced to re-rate the entire business. Both stocks surged 100%+ in 3-8 months after ~20% gap up (Charts below).

  • Intel: Triggered by a massive USD5 bn investment from NVIDIA for a 4% stake, pivoting the narrative from legacy player to AI foundry powerhouse (September 2025).
  • Nebius (NBIS): Ignited by a landmark five-year, multi-billion dollar agreement to provide dedicated AI infrastructure to Microsoft (August 2025).

Putting 2.8 GW into Context: Coincidentally, 1.2 gigawatts was the exact amount of power Doc Brown needed to send the DeLorean through time (Refer to BTTF). Bloom’s new 2.8 GW deal more than doubles that—providing enough “juice” to get Marty to the future and, more importantly, ensure he has the power to get back home.

Is it a “sure win”? Of course not. But in the race for AI physical infrastructure, energy is the ultimate bottleneck. Now it is an early clue that $BE is positioning itself as a super-performer in the AI power space.

Welcome home, Marty.
